"Animation and VFX industry in India has grown at a rate of 16.4 percent to reach a size of Rs. 59.5 billion," says a report co-authored by the industry association FICCI and consulting firm KPMG. Indeed, India has offered talent and quality services to many visual-effect-heavy movies of the Western world. Tamil Selvam, CEO of Yellow Tree Academy pinpoints that the need for Animation artists and Game Designers have increased intensely over years.

Tamil Selvam has trained more than 5000 students in the field of Animation and VFX and he wants to train individuals who are aspiring to create their own products rather than working for others imagination. "Our vision is to create a revolution in education and to spread more awareness about the prospects in the Design, Gaming and Animation Industry and to make a huge contribution to the same," shares Selvam. To enlighten the creative minds with a unique approach, Yellow Tree Academy provides a professional training catering to the industrial standards with multiple skills. Satish Kumar, Founder of Yellow Tree Academy adds, "Woven into the beginning terms of our curriculum is a strong foundation of traditional art thereby enhancing the students' abilities and giving them a better perception in this field." In 2017, the academy received 'Excellence in Education India and International' award from Indywood Film Festival.

Yellow Tree Academy is straightforward to the students in making them learn the best to get the best quality output as per industry expectations. "We want the students to get in-depth knowledge of the basics before they start working with the software. They can learn software at any point of time. But, if they are not strong with the basics, then it will be difficult for them to survive in this field," mentions Selvam. The students are taught to work with a pencil rather than a mouse, as the academy believes that the students must be experts in traditional drawing. After their students master the basic skills of animation, Selvam and his team of experts offer various projects, which are entertaining and are able to satisfy the needs of the industry. "Working on your dream games and movies is no longer a superstition in India," adds Karthik, a young dynamic professional and partner of Yellow Tree Academy.

"We give real-time projects and freelancing work to the students to get an understanding of making an Animation movie. The experts from the industry are invited as well to give their valuable feedback on our student's demo reel," opines Selvam. With an impressive student to faculty ratio of 1:7, students of Yellow Tree Academy enjoy highly personalized attention from the trainers. The trainers ensure that the students get practical knowledge through industrial visits. The students get adequate knowledge during these industrial visits, which provide them with an upper hand when they are recruited by the reputed firms in this industry. "Our students who get placed in companies like Rockstar Games, Xentrix Studios, Dhruva Interactive, Amazon, Prana and so on have also received 'The Best Performer awards' by some of them, with an average salary package of Rs. 3 lakhs. Our team Yellow Tree academy with both teaching and non-teaching staffs are the biggest strength to achieve success progressively. We have planned to start an online certification program for aspiring students in the field of animation and VFX," concludes Selvam.
