The Indian internet population being over 500 million users (as of early 2019), internet is the best way to reach out to maximum number of users and education leaders are making the best of this today. Owing to the current lifestyle, most people have no time to go back to school even if they have the intention to get more degrees for career advancement, job promotion or simply to learn something new, online education benefits them. eLearning is quickly gaining popularity amongst students who either take online courses alongside traditional courses or complete an entire course of study online leading to a degree award. According to a study by KPMG in India and Google, India's online education market is set to grow to 1.96 billion USD and around 9.6 million users by 2021 from 247 million USD and around 1.6 million users in 2016. Increased penetration of internet and smartphones in India is one of the key factors which is driving the growth in the online education market in India. High penetration has not only created huge consumer base for eLearning companies in India to acquire but also to monetize the opportunity. The Government of India is also keen to use the evolving technological resources to make education accessible to all deserving students. The country offers significant opportunities to the educational content development companies in India. eLearning companies in India are also working effectively with the central government, state government, and educational boards to make the cloud platform prevalent.
