Coimbatore August 4th, 2015: On Tuesday, the IBM Business Analytics Lab was inaugurated by Mr. Kaushik Bhaskar, Vice President - Information Integration & Governance Software, and India Software Labs IBM India and Dr.P. Venkat Rangan, Vice ChancellorAmrita University, at the Amrita School of Business (ASB)Coimbatore.
In this Lab, under the Career Education program, IBM is providing relevant software and training using various industry cases to the faculty members of ASB. The objective is to enable future business managers with the requisite skill sets to succeed in any business, industry or function they choose to be in.
On the occasion, Mr. Kaushik Bhaskar also addressed the faculty and students at the school and shared his perspective on the power of information and the use of software tools that are critical for smarter business outcomes. He also spoke about his concern on the skill scenario currently plaguing the industry and IBM’s commitment to bridging this gap by addressing the increasing need for multi-disciplinary skills by complementing the existing management and engineering education offering with Career Education courses.
Post the completion of the faculty development programs, the distinguished faculty members will train MBA students on Big Data and Descriptive Analytics to start with and soon proceed to topics on Predictive Analytics.
Commenting on the collaboration with ASB, Mr. Kaushik Bhaskar said, “The Career Education Program is the perfect testimony to IBM’s continued commitment to software education and skills development in our country. Students would also be work on cases that emanate from real-world business scenarios to gain the best of experiential learning.”
