Japan keen to invest in education sector in Uttarakhand: Govt
Japan has expressed its keenness to invest in the education sector in Uttarakhand to prepare a skilled workforce for the Japanese industries in India. Representatives of Hi-No-De, a Japanese education society, met Chief Minister Harish Rawat here today and expressed interest in investing in the education sector of the state, an official said.
In days to come, Japanese industrialists will be investing in India in a big way and will require skilled resources; one of the society members was quoted as saying at the meeting with the chief minister. Spelling out priorities of the state government, Rawat said “professional education will be provided to the youth in accordance with the demands of today's highly competitive times.”
Chief Secretary N Ravishankar, Secretary Technical education RK Sudhanshu and Secretary Higher education Radhika Jha were among those who attended the meeting.
