Jalandhar: Today, Lovely Academy organised a Principals Conference under the aegis of RISE, an initiative aimed to elevate the potential of students of Punjab in competitive examinations. Principals of all the reputed schools participated in this initiative, discussed the challenges faced by the students, schools, and parents in realizing the full potential of the school students of this area, and gave their valuable suggestions on how to improve upon the results of the students in competitive examination. In the recently held JEE-IIT, and in medical exams, limited number of students of Jalandhar region managed to crack the examinations. Even the overall performance of the State students was not encouraging this time.
Director Mr. Aman Mittal said that the major problem faced by the students is the high pressure of the studies followed by the fear of having to sit in competitive examinations. Students mostly indulge in just clearing their 10th or 12th exams and do not plan what to do after their intermediate exams. After discussion, it was concluded that there is no doubt the need to reduce the burden on the students, but the urgency of guiding them in a better way how to participate and clear the competitive exams, is the need of the hour. Director Lovely Academy also stated about the unique initiative which is named as School Integrated Program. In this initiative Mr. Mittal mentioned that competitive institute and schools come together to offer programme at the school premises itself.
Principal of Mayor World School Mr. J S Hundal said that in order to improve the results there is need that the students take up professional courses and for that initiation must start from 10th or from 12th class itself. Special sessions should be conducted for the students to guide them about various competitive exams. He further added that Lovely Academy has taken an excellent initiative to organise such a large conference and discuss such an important issue about how to reduce study pressure, ignorance about future oriented courses, lack of planning and preparing for competitive exams. Henceforth, he appreciated the approach of Lovely Academy for inventiveness and providing guiding knowledge about the competitive courses to the students.
