Mahindra Ecole Centrale College of Engineering, Hyderabad concludes its first Intra-college Fest AETHER

Students across Hyderabad participated in big numbers this scintillating event that piqued their interest intellectually,culturally and creativel.

Mahindra Ecole Centrale College of Engineering, an Indo-French technology Institution, presented the first edition of AETHER, a technological cum cultural intra college festival held over the weekend at MEC campus

Aether aimed to create a forum for the finest intellectual and cultural amalgamation for students from colleges in and around Hyderabad. Aether made a huge impact with its debut and brought an assorted compendium of events. Spanning over two days, Saturday, the 5th of March and Sunday, the 6th of March 2016, Aether included a swirl of eclectic technical and cultural events.

Backed by strong scientific and creative backgrounds, Aether boasted of events ranging from assembling a hovercraft to European art. Aether was also the host to various workshops on topics like ethical hacking and mobile application designing, just to name a few. For those who are not terribly enthused with technology, Aether brought in mind- blogging performances from the plethora of talent across the country.

Prof. TSK Murthy, Dean Operations and Industry Connect, Mahindra Ecole Centrale said,“Aether was a very well organized student initiative and the assorted mix of events ranging from creative to intellectual to cultural delighted the senses and piqued the curiosity and interest of not just the participants but also the audience”.

Aether included literary events that Erudite Triathlon, a combination of three events that tested the participants on everything literary, Minute to Win it and Monopoly.

Then there were creative events Devinette(Quiz on literature, technology and GK), Mystery Box(a creative art competition) and Repartee(war of words).

The gaming enthusiasts reveled in a gaming content called Virtual Vendetta. It was a huge hit with the participants and audiences. The games being challenged were DOTA 2, Counter Strike 1.6 and FIFA 15.

Aether also brought to fore fun activities for the participants. These included Face Painting, Paper Filigree, Act to Sound(Listen to music and enact your interpretation of it) and Life in a Day(Photography at the Festival in its raw form). The gluttons and the gourmet had a field day with events like Hunger Games(How fast can you gulp down food) and Decode(identify the max number of the ingredients of what is being eaten, blindfolded). The creative and the fashion-conscious brought their versatility to fore with Vogue(Dress Designing and cuts on paper) and Melange(bringing style to the ramp). The other events included Repartee(The dynamic debate competition), Pitch Please(Mimicry / Singing without an instrument/music) and Character Combat(Funny conversations).

The geeks delighted in Rastel(an open challenge for hackers and crackers), Hackathon, workshops on Ethical Hacking, App Development & 3D printing and HoverUp(assemble the howercraft and combat your opponents).

The entertainment at the event included internal and external cultural shows with Singers and finally DJ Anish Sood rocked the audience as the grand finale.
