University of Bradford to Host Discussion on Global Education and India
To emphasize the importance of giving future business managers a global perspective, the UK-based University of Bradford is organizing a panel discussion in the city on the topic ‘The uprising demand of global exposure in Education – The Indian Perspective’. The session will be held as part of the ‘University of Bradford: Partners in Progress Forum’, being hosted at Hotel Hyatt Centric on 27th November from 7pm to 10pm.
The panel discussion will be chaired by Mr Mali Mahalingam (Chief Consulting Officer & CEO, Coach) and the panellists will include Mr. Ganesh Margabandhu (Director, Lead Theatre) and Mr. Jayesh Chakravarthy (Former General Manager-Global Technology Services, IBM India). During the session, they will talk about the importance that companies give to the global exposure attribute of a candidate while hiring their managers. They will also share insight on the skills that an individual gains when he opts for a global exposure opportunity.
The Partners in Progress Forum is being organized by University of Bradford to celebrate higher education and its relationship with business and industry and consider what more can be done to tackle the challenges of the 21st Century. The event will also witness a speech on the topic ‘Universities & Economic Development’ by University of Bradford’s Vice Chancellor Prof Brian Cantor, wherein he will talk about Universities being the drivers of economic development.
Talking about the global issues of the current times, Prof Cantor said, “The world is facing global challenges on a scale not seen before: ill-health, poverty, climate change, energy supply, food security, migration and terrorism. Universities, like Bradford, are doing the research needed to understand these problems, and are teaching the next generation of world leaders who will have to find the solutions. Our success in these areas has been built on over 50 years of academic and research excellence, something at which we excel. This was recognised with an award of Silver under the Teaching Excellence Framework. The award underlines our consistently high quality teaching which enables Bradford students to become the future leaders of tomorrow.”
On this occasion, the University will also launch an elite ‘Brand Ambassadors (BA)’ programme for its alumni in India. Mr Ismat Abu Shihab, who is the University’s Director of Dubai Regional Hub, will give a presentation on the roles of Ambassadors and Representatives at Bradford. There will be another presentation by Mr Mark Garratt (Director of External Affairs, University of Bradford) outlining why Indian students should choose Bradford as a university.
Speaking about the upcoming visit to India, Prof Cantor said, “The University of Bradford has strong links with India going back over many years. We hope, through this visitation, that we will be able to both continue and strengthen that relationship. Much like our University, the growth of Bradford as a region has been built on the hard work of citizens from across India who have settled in the local area.”
The event will witness participation from school counselors, school leaders, recruitment agents, representatives from various universities, corporates and financial institutions, University of Bradford alumni and offer holders as well as prospective students.
