DTU Launches BTech, MTech in AI, Semiconductor & Cybersecurity

  • DTU introduces 3 BTech and 3 MTech programs for 2025–26, aligned with ISM and IndiaAI missions.
  • MTech in ESG offered with ICSI; Renewable Energy Systems with NISE.
  • BTech seats via JAC; MTech admissions based on GATE scores.

To develop a proficient workforce in semiconductors and AI, Delhi Technological University (DTU) has launched three new undergraduate programs for the academic year 2025-26 — BTech in Data Science & Analytics, Cybersecurity, and VLSI Design & Technology.

The courses are in line with government-driven missions, such as the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and the IndiaAI Mission, aimed at advancing technology for industrial development.

DTU has announced three new master's programs, which include an MTech in Cybersecurity, an MTech in Research Program in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and an MTech in Research in Renewable Energy Systems.

The Department of Environmental Engineering, in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, would offer the Master's in ESG.

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, and Mechanical Engineering will provide the Master's in Renewable Energy Systems in collaboration with the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE).

In 2024-25, DTU launched MTech in Research to motivate students to engage thoroughly in R&D. Considering its success and the directives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020; the Master’s in Research programme has been expanded to include three new specialized streams in this academic year.

“The programmes are being designed as per the requirements of society and industries. We are focusing on filling the gaps between research and its application in the real world. To bridge this gap, the programmes are designed to offer maximum exposure to industrial learning.

These courses consist of one semester of theoretical learning and three semesters of industrial learning, followed by a dissertation,” said Prateek Sharma, vice-chancellor, DTU, at a press conference held recently.
