IIT Madras has introduced an initiative named 'Startups for All' to simplify access to crucial information regarding new businesses in India for everyone. The platform, managed by the research center of IIT (CREST), provides reliable data accessibility at an affordable price or sometimes at no cost to all participants, such as founders, investors, students, and job hunters.
Palanivel Thiagarajan, the Tamil Nadu IT Minister, formally launched the project at the ‘TN global startup summit.’ IIT Madras collaborated with its startup, YNOS, to create 'Startups for All.' Their primary objective is to bridge the significant 'information gap' that complicates matters for emerging businesses in India.
Featuring more than 275,000 startups, 15,000 angel investors, 5,500 venture capital firms, 1,400 incubators, 800 banks, and 110 government programs, this platform serves as India's most extensive resource for startups and funding.
"This 'Startups for All' plan is based on the belief that access to information should be a right, not a special favor," said Professor Thillai Rajan A. "We are happy to work with IIT Madras to let every hopeful founder learn about the startup world clearly, confidently, and cheaply."
The 'Startups for All' platform offers complimentary first access to trustworthy details about new enterprises, investors, and support groups. Upon registration, users receive free credits to navigate the database, which features comprehensive profiles for investors and incubators, allows comparison of startup funding and growth analytics, matches users with appropriate investors, facilitates report downloads on investors and startups, and enables the creation of customized messages to investors.
