IIT-BHU, Saras AI Join Forces to Advance AI Education in India

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by the Director of IIT-BHU, Prof. Amit Patra, and COO and Co-Founder of the Saras AI Institute, Amit Kataria, promises a practical and industry-relevant AI curriculum focused on applied learning. “Our partnership with Saras marks a significant step towards integrating cutting-edge AI education across disciplines, ensuring that every student regardless of their field is equipped to contribute meaningfully to India's digital and economic transformation," he said.

Anil Singh, Founder and President of Saras, emphasized the broader impact of the partnership. "The collaboration with IIT-BHU is not just about teaching artificial intelligence; it’s about empowering every student across all disciplines with the tools to shape India’s destiny in the AI era," he said.

Shailesh Kumar, Chief Student Success Officer at Saras AI Institute, highlighted the inclusivity of the initiative. "Through this MoU, Saras will offer its foundational 8-week course ‘Powers of AI’, as an open elective for IIT BHU students. It is open to all undergraduate students of all disciplines, ensuring that the transformative potential of AI reaches everyone, from engineering to humanities," he said.

The collaboration aims to bring to the fore the AI Evaluator, an AI-enabled tool developed jointly by IIT-BHU and Saras for real-time tracking of student progress, deep learning insights, and efficient assessments. The tool thus promotes scalable and high-quality education in rapidly digitizing India.

Moreover, this MoU is paving flexible learning pathways through its robust credit exchange program that allows students to take a Minor in AI online, explore the Associate Degree options, and receive industry-recognized AI certifications through the Saras AI Institute's digital campus. Joint research, guest lectures, AI hackathons and workshops will include IIT-BHU academic and industry events, creating a synergy at the very core of this strong ecosystem to propel AI innovation further.

This strategic alliance between IIT-BHU and Saras AI Institute marks a transformative step toward equipping Indian students with the skills to drive the nation’s AI-powered future, aligning with India’s ambitions for technological and economic leadership by 2047.
