Telangana Offers ₹2,000 Monthly Scholarships for ITI, ATC
- Telangana announces ₹2,000 monthly stipend for ITI/ATC students from 2025.
- The initiative aims to boost skill-based education, reduce dropouts, and support the underprivileged.
- ATCs rebranded to provide modern industry training, enhancing student employability prospects.
The Telangana government has declared a monthly stipend of ₹2,000 for ITI students, currently referred to as Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs). The advantage will be implemented starting next academic year and is anticipated to assist thousands of students enrolled in technical and vocational programs.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stated that the initiative is a component of the state's efforts to enhance skill-oriented education and lower dropout rates. “Our government wants every young person to have the opportunity to learn skills that guarantee employment. The ₹2,000 assistance will help them focus on their studies without financial worries,” he said while making the announcement.
The ATCs provide training in fields such as mechanical, electrical, and electronic trades, and were rebranded to deliver contemporary industry-related skills. Authorities think that the scholarship will enhance the appeal of these institutions, particularly for students from disadvantaged households.

Directors of training centers appreciated the choice. “This stipend will ease the burden on poor households and encourage students to complete their courses. It will also help improve enrolment,” said a Hyderabad-based institute head.
Telangana currently offers scholarships for students in schools and colleges across different categories. The recent announcement has included vocational training students. Authorities announced that comprehensive guidelines will be released shortly, with the initial group of beneficiaries being students enrolled in 2025-26.
The government is exploring collaborations with industries to broaden the training opportunities in ATCs. Specialists claim these actions will enhance job opportunities for young people and reinforce Telangana's industrial foundation.
