Get the Right Job Not the Right Pay

With the hit in the Indian economy and the job markets going downwards, the graduating students have suffered a big blow. As a result, students are taking the first way out by following the market trends. This may seem like the logical choice to start a career but it will only prove to be disastrous in the long run. A career is not something that can be built upon by only following market trends or by latching on to the most happening development. It takes a great deal of hard work and more importantly, a liking of what you do.

Getting the right degree is the first step to build a good career. Students looking at education degrees like engineering and masters in business administration as a way for monetary happiness have stopped them pursuing the courses that they are truly passionate about. This results in boredom and complete lack of interest in pursuing the studies. This will in turn affect their job too as there is no basic interest. Today companies are witnessing such problems and they can clearly identify whether the graduate will be an asset or not. Therefore students needs to understand, if the degree they have acquired is something they really aspired and whether it will help them to get a job of their choice.

After making the right choice to pursue a course, a student needs to stay abreast with the current developments happening in their respective field. Students who try and gain as much market knowledge as possible after deciding which course to pursue will be ahead of the rest. Most freshers overlook this aspect as something that can be made up for, after they start working. However, being aware of the current scenario allows individuals to be updated with the market leaders and companies to target, that will help students in making the most of the opportunities. Upon doing necessary research, the individuals can also stumble upon some of the fallouts of joining the industry and how problems can be solved. Many corporate interviewers look for these qualities within a candidate when they conduct campus recruitment exercises.

Education is not something that should be looked at in terms of money. It is a gateway to the next stage in persons life. The choice should not be made by looking at elusive packages that some graduates receive after passing out because truth of the matter remains that only a fistful of people are so fortunate. Talent is another aspect that cannot be stressed enough. I believe that not all people who are good with numbers should go and do an MBA with a specialization in Marketing. I would rather hope that they do an MS in Finance. It all depends on what course you are pursuing, and how will it help you to fulfill the role that you hope to play.

Once a student acquires the degree, it is up to the organizations to decide if the candidate is an ideal fit for the job. The fresh graduates are put through a proper screening process to ensure that only best candidates are selected. Once screening is done, companies train these new employees through their training programs which vary from one company to next. At Yatra BPO center, fresh candidates are trained through the organization culture, behavioral skills and taught about products that they are going to handle. After this step the candidates are placed on the floor for carrying out job responsibilities. However, there are a lot of companies that allow many of their employees to complete their education through distance learning which has proved to be a big boon to employees who cannot quit their jobs in order to pursue higher studies. Companies observe this as a value addition in employee satisfaction. Even the IIMs and various other institutions have realized its importance and have started offering various courses through distance learning.

In many cases, fresh graduates are chasing big names in the market to get a good lead in their career. They must first analyze and understand themselves before getting into the rat race. They should know their strengths and weakness. In doing so, they will have a better understanding if the respective job will help them achieve their grand goals.
