With focus on employability more than employment, NIIS Group of institutions has been working hard towards its vision in excelling and adapting its students for an industrially affable standpoint. Started in the year 2000, under the aegis of Nilachal Education & Management Trust (NEMT), NIIS Groups of Institutions has been established to provide value based technical and professional education in the field of IT, Management and Social Work.
Located in Bhubaneswar, the institution caters to both Under Graduate and post Graduate level programs. The Institutions zeroes in on making the students wear professional attitude. To accomplish this vision, the institutions has set up a three months Pre-placement training program every year to impart both technical and skill development input. The institute conducts three layer selection tests to have the best 500 students appear for the placement drive as solicited by recruiting organizations. As the corollary, NIIS now boasts of a placement record of 90 percent for the first time. NIIS has MoU with different organizations and institutes to achieve and realize its motto for employability. Organizations such as Reliance, Tata Industries, UPS Logistics, Crisil, My Home Industries, Genesis Luxury, Just Dial & many more have been regular visitors for the placement. The institution also grooms entrepreneurship and its increasing inclination among the professionals citing the two percent of the 10 percent of students who don\'t fall under the placement record go on to start their own ventures in different fields of their choice. In such cases, the Entrepreneurship Development cell (EDP Cell) on NIIS guides those students too by supporting them. The EDP Cell in association with the Ministry of Micro, small and Medium Entrepreneurship, Government of India supports such ventures by associating them to National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Reserve Bank of India, ISO Certification cell khadi & village Industries and other organizations as well. Some of the alumni members have also started their ventures after working with other organizations for few years.
The skill development program which is being facilitated to the students includes programs like IRDA, (Licensing Program), National Council for Financial Management, ERP, Excel & Advance Excel, Banking Coaching Programs and many others to facilitate students to excel and compete in the global market. The institute also provides training programs and conducts workshops in collaboration with IIT and IIMS. It claims to have conducted summer internship program deputing 108 students to 40 companies. Some of the students who performed well in their summer internship are offered in �hand jobs from the same companies. The institute has strength of 60 faculty members of the group out of whom many faculties hold PhD Degrees. As an idea to promote academic research, NIIS has indulged in various research activities with the Odisha Forest Dev. Corporation, Hotel Industries and core manufacturing industries and have a tie-up with Utkal University, BPUT dealing with some student based research project.
The institute also bears a social work department which has a tie-up with CSR department of NALCO, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, NGO\'S and Bhubaneswar Commissionerate police. Further, Dr. Dixit mentions the importance of inculcating team spirit, attitude building among the students and specifies the behavioral changes he has seen after conducting events as Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Blood Donation Camp in the campus and other social activities. \"The transformation in the social behavior of the students while working with various people in different events makes them more attentive and responsible and prepares them for life, mentions Dr, Dixit\".
NIIS has a panel of advisors in the field of Administration, IT, Business Management, Social Welfare and Economics which advises them in the function of real life management. The state of the art infrastructure of the Institute is fairly well developed with adequate modern facilities to provide teaching and training to the students in all streams. In the next two years, NIIS plans to be called a \'Smart institute\' and have MOU\'s with more national and international level of organizations to update the curriculum and skill building programmes according to the industry need and convert the institute in to a private sector university of repute.

He has worked in institutions such as Global institute of Management, Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India, Forest Development Corporation, Government of Odisha, having qualification of M. Com, PGDM, M.A in Personnel Management and Industrial Relation, Doctorate in Foreign Direct Investment in Retail Management. During his work in the last 2 years in NIIS, the motivation and attitude of the students has been shaped well to great extend with the dedicated involvement of the faculty members taking ownership in to consideration. Guidance to a student is made available round the clock under mentorship system, adopting computerization in the administration as well as in the laboratories.
