Singapore is a modern, vibrant nation with an excellent educational system, providing numerous opportunities for internationals who wish to study abroad. The reasonable cost of studying compared to destinations like U.S., U.K and Australia makes Singapore an attractive destination for international students seeking a quality education. Many students from India are already studying in Singapore and the number has been increasing at a rapid pace from past few years. Nanyang Technological University founded in 1981, as the National Technological Institute, later christened to NTU in 1991, is one of the largest and most popular public universities in Singapore for international students.

From the first student-built satellite VELOX- PII to the climate monitoring and navigation satellite, and the university's first satellite with a commercial payload launched recently, the institution has been a frequent name in the news for long time now. The satellites were launched from India's Satish Dhawan Space Centre on the Indian Space Research Organization's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C29) rocket. NTU has a good working relationship with premiere organizations and institutions in India and this fact works as an advantage for students from India, who want to pursue their higher education in Singapore, where Indians constitute 8.8 percent of the total population of the permanent residents.

The main campus for NTU is the Yunnan Garden Campus, which is a beautiful semi-rural and tropical setting in the west of Singapore. The location of the campus is an added feather in the facilities that the university provides to the students. By virtue of being situated in semi rural and tropical setting, the university is ideal for peaceful learning process for the students who come from other countries. The university also offers a lot of scholarship options to the students who come from foreign countries.

A university that maintains excellent working relationship with many organizations and academic institutions all over the world would be ideal for any student who wants to have a broad perspective by the time they graduate. NTU maintains over 40 MoUs with institutions spread all over the globe and also maintains many research collaborations with organizations such as BMW, Rolls Royce and Johnson Mathey. With excellent research and international collaborations the university also has an entrepreneurship development cell by the name of Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre, established with the seed fund from the Economic Development Board in 2001. The cell exclusively works on encouraging the students on becoming successful entrepreneurs; students are encouraged to attend the seminars and conferences that are related to entrepreneurship and leadership. International students get to learn about the market in Singapore and also become aware of the industry trends and rules. Providing the best environment for learning and growth for nationals and foreign nationals, the university is quickly becoming the favorite destination for higher education for students from many countries including India.
