Finding a place in an industry of their choice is not an easy task for engineering students today as 1.5 Million engineering students are graduating from campuses across the country every year. The competition to get a dream job is becoming tougher with every passing academic year. Born at a time when education was reckoned service, Navodaya Education Trust knows the challenges in taking up the responsibility of educating students in the right path as they have been successfully implementing the same since its inception. Hence, the trust grew from a single institution into a mammoth multi-institutions delivering quality education at all levels. Today Navodaya Education Trust owns and manages over 15 institutions, from primary to post-graduation. One among them is Navodaya Institute of Technology, which has been providing quality-engineering education and existing as a driving force for the future technological novelty and economic expansion of the country.

Grooming the Students in Right Path

To coordinate with the industry and groom students to match up to the standards of modern day requirements, the institute has employed an active Training and Placement cell. The cell provides a window of opportunities to students over a wide variety of careers in a broad spectrum of industries and organizations in India and abroad. It serves as a single point of contact for organizations on various Industry-Institute Initiatives like industrial training, guest lectures, industry internships, soft skill training, effective resume writing and conducting mock interviews. The pre placement programs includes special lectures, soft skill training programs, aptitude training, career counseling, special focus on technical skills, interview / GD skills and corporate etiquettes. "A dedicated team of trainers equips our students to cope up with these challenges, by conducting training programs using the latest training methodologies," claims S. R. Reddy. The institute has provided placement training to all the students through best training expertise institutions from Global Career Point � Hyderabad, Global Arena � Bangalore and Chennai Training Foundation - Chennai. The central placement cell coordinates with the placement coordinator of each department for facilitating placement activities. This cell actively involves in training and placement of the students in Tier- I and Tier �II companies and organizes the placement training with the help of HR managers of different companies and industry experts.

The institute has tie-ups with organizations such as Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, Hydro power plant � Hospet, Hutti Gold Mines, Surana Industries limited and leading software companies for industrial visits, short-term training and internships. Events and workshops are frequently organized within the campus for the benefit students and faculty members. Industry experts from software companies like Wipro, other eminent faculty from institutions affiliated to VTU, Belgaum, deliver seminars, guest lectures and workshops. Emeritus professors from department of policy, planning and research, MHRD, Government of India and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research visit the institution to conduct FDP and share their experiences.

In addition to this, the students involve in real-time learning environment in the labs and various industries, work in close with the industry during internship and participate in technological symposiums displaying their technological skills and solutions. The faculty encourages students to undertake small projects in their department and instills an inquisitive mindset among students. Each department is annexed with a research centre and students of this institute have undertaken many projects in the departmental level in the past two years.

Shri. S.R.Reddy, Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust was one of the pioneers to bring quality professional education and advanced health care to the people of North Karnataka. Being the founder of Navodaya Education Trust, he made a humble beginning with a Pharmacy college in the year 1992. Over the years, the mission statement of the chairman addresses the changing needs of the society and grown into multifarious colleges professional higher education and quality health care. Today the trust runs 15 institutions and 1030 bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital.
