Today, online exam is not an alien concept to Indian students. Most of the exams have been made online to exploit the path laid by Internet to coordinate exams throughout the world. In this era, it is possible with well-advanced IT infrastructure for most institutions and companies to appoint students around the world to exploit their talents and skills to keep them growing. Thus, it becomes important for every student to be well acquainted with the online examination skills and technology. Rather than conducting a mass aptitude test for the student candidates, most of the recruiters in India prefer online tests, where candidates can appear for the test from the comfort of their homes. However, many of our engineering colleges do not have the provision to train their students on taking online exams successfully.
Located in between Agra and Mathura, the management of Eshan College of Engineering is well aware of this emerging concept. To prepare students to go through the online test, the institute has tied-up with cocubes.com, which is considered as one of India's largest assessment and campus hiring platforms. With the support of cocubes.com, the institute measures and improves student's employability and helps them move ahead on their career path. "As initial filtering process for the placements have changed and now instead of conducting a mass aptitude test for the students companies are looking forward to online tests. By collaborating with cocubes.com, we prepare the students for that process," says Bhavishya Agarwal, Head of Admissions and Placement, Eshan College of Engineering.
However, imparting such postmodern concepts to the students is a tough task for the management and faculty as most of the students are coming from the rural background. "We get students from the nearby places like Agra and Mathura and states like UP, Bihar and Assam. Most of them belong to rural areas. Thus, they are not adept in their communications skills," says Agarwal. Understanding the situation, the institute has given lot of emphasize on building communication skills which it starts from the second year. To conduct such programs and make industry ready engineers, the institute has Training and Placement Department. They are constantly working towards the ultimate goal of the student's employment by arranging regular industrial visits for students. These industrial visits are crucial for understanding and imbibing the culture of the industry where the students associate their academic input with the Industry objectively. The location of the institute eases this process as it is well connected by cities like Delhi Agra, Mathura and Noida.
At present more than 25 companies visit this campus for recruiting their future employees. Ashoka Build Homes, United Spirits, K.S. Interconnect Systems, Bharti Bios, A.D. Worldwide Corporation, E.T. Automation Services, Vikcy Mart Software, Code Studio, DSI Software Pvt. Ltd., Incise Infotech, Pixel Conception Tech., Data Infovision, Web Experts Info Tech., and Resonance Technologies are few amongst them. "In the future, we endeavor to undertake Memorandum of Understandings with other premier Corporate and Industrial houses," says CA Sanjay Agarwal, Founder Trustee and Chairman of the Governing Council, Eshan College of Engineering.
Eshan College of Engineering began its journey in 2009 under the management of Lord Shiva Trust, which is headed by the founder trustee CA Sanjay Agarwal. The college has more than 100 highly qualified faculty members, who are ready to help students whenever they needed to.
With the strong support of this team of faculties, the institute runs a program called 'Tutorials.' "If the students are not able to understand a particular topic or if they missed any lectures they can attend these tutorial classes and make sure that they grasped the idea from the lecturer," says Dr. G. Srivastav, Director, Eshan College of Engineering.
