A desire to learn is vital for the adaptation of a good civilization. Learning is beneficial emotionally, financially, physically and socially. Students need a better education, one that gives them what they need to succeed and SCET proves to be one such institution giving due regards to personality development and practical orientation in order to nurture all-round development of the student. SCET which was established in the year 2001, as a commonplace for platitude teaching learning process and with time emerged as a platform for innovative learning with expertise. It offers educational services to the students of neighboring rural areas to compete in the global economy. The academic activities concentrate on helping the students to gain an excellent theoretical knowledge base and in the development of skills to implement them.

Faculty members, the backbone of the institution, work to change the face of education through a continuous focus on practical oriented learning. SCET educators are able to affect virtually every aspect of their students' lives, teaching them the important life lessons that will help them succeed beyond term papers and standardized tests. SCET learners are instilled with the right attitude and skills to ensure that they are dynamic and are well groomed in social and event management skills. As an autonomous institution, SCET decides the curriculum in such a way that they will be able to reach up their goal of enriching students with good communication skills to explore their creativity. As many students at the institute come from a rural background and English is their second language, the institute concentrated on improvement of their communication skills.
The institute imparts training required in the industrial field to produce readily employable graduates. With a separate Training and Placement Cell, which invites various companies in all branches of Engineering, the institute has good recognition of providing successful engineering graduates to various organizations in the placement drives. The Training and Placement Cell, wing exists for students for placements in MNC's along with soft skills Training & Entrepreneur development training. They organize a number of training programs for the students of all semesters with the help of in-house experts and resource personnel drawn from professional agencies. The activities have proved exceptionally useful in shaping the careers of students. Teaching involves experimentation and research is learning by doing. A well-equipped laboratory with the state-of-the-art facilities in SCET provides the students hands on experience in performing the various safe and systematic protocols. A strong integration of multi disciplinary areas in the institute including physical science and engineering sciences functioning with young and dynamic faculty members helps in the advancement of Research and Development.
SCET created Jawahar Knowledge Centre for the intensive training in various fields for students from different colleges. It works effectively with good student participation. As a government initiative they train at industry based skills. JKC join hands with Infosys Campus Connect initiatives to roll out the Foundation for about 1400 students. The collaboration with IBM helped in organizing IBM - Great Mind Challenge, through which students and faculty awareness workshops are organized in JKC status colleges. Oracle came forward to share its tools and software and Microsoft provides free software access to all JKC students. The tie up with the well known establishments helps to connect organizations with talented students and creating a network of various organizations, providing the added depth of learning.
