The Selangor state government has reopened applications for its RM1, 000 higher education institutions (IPT) Study Grant, and providing financial assistance to eligible students pursuing tertiary education.
The initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on students from Selangor, particularly those who are entering their first year at accredited educational institutions.
The grant is open to students undertaking programmes that extend from Level 4 Skills Certificates to bachelor degree programs, which enables institutions to provide educational pathways through various academic programs.
According to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the state government has increased its allocation for the scheme to RM5 million this year, up from RM3 million previously. The government increase will provide financial support to more students who need assistance with their higher education expenses.
