Medical Counselling Committee Adds 614 New Seats for UG Seat Matrix

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the addition of 614 new seats for the second round of NEET UG Counselling 2024. These seats have been distributed among medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana. Telangana has received the bulk of the new allocations with 600 additional seats, while Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra each received 7 additional seats.

These new seats are available for various quotas, including All India, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), and deemed or paid seats. Candidates can access the updated seat matrix on MCC's official website, mcc.nic.in.

On September 7, the MCC confirmed that four educational institutions have been granted "Deemed to be University" status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As a result, seats from these universities are now included in the Round-2 seat matrix for UG Counselling 2024, offering more opportunities to candidates. The newly deemed universities and their seat allocations are as follows:

- Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad: 200 MBBS seats
- Malla Reddy Medical College for Women, Hyderabad: 200 MBBS seats
- Malla Reddy Institute of Dental Sciences, Hyderabad: 100 BDS seats
- Malla Reddy Dental College for Women, Hyderabad: 100 BDS seats

These additions are expected to significantly benefit candidates participating in the ongoing NEET UG counselling process.
