The collaboration between Cornell University and the Tata Education and Development Trust supports outstanding Indian students pursuing undergraduate studies at Cornell’s Ithaca campus.
Funded by a $25 million donation, the scholarship annually awards up to 20 Indian students, providing significant financial assistance to ease the cost of higher education.
Applicants should be Indian citizens and own a valid passport; individuals with dual citizenship or non-Indian nationality are not eligible. The priority is accorded to applicants who had secondary education in India. The candidates should apply for full-time undergraduate admission: first-year student, transfer student, or visiting student.
Although Cornell will remain test-optional through 2025, good SAT or ACT scores are advised, and international students in India must have an IELTS score of 7.5 and above to be considered for both admission and the scholarship.
First-year students seeking a full-time undergraduate programme at Cornell University should begin by submitting their application. Those seeking financial aid must complete the College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile and submit supporting financial documents, such as family income statements, tax returns, employer letters, and bank statements. The application also requires academic transcripts, recommendation letters, and a personal statement.
