GATE 2026 Registration Begins; IIT Guwahati to Conduct Exam

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 will be organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati). The GATE 2026 website has been launched by IIT Guwahati. The GATE 2026 official site can be found at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. In 2026, GATE is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15.

The GATE 2026 exam application process will start on August 25. The final day to apply for the exam is September 25 (no late fees) and October 6 (with late fees).

GATE 2026 will feature a total of 30 examination papers. Candidates may take either one or two test papers only. The list of combinations must be used to select the two test paper combinations. Candidates need to complete just one application form, even if they take two test papers. The GATE 2026 examination papers will be in English and exclusively objective type.

The questions in GATE 2025 will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. GATE 2026 is organized by IISc and all IITs, representing the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

A valid GATE score allows for admission to master’s programs and direct doctoral programs in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, or humanities, as well as doctoral programs in related fields of engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, or humanities, in institutions funded by the MoE and other government bodies.
