IIM Kozhikode unveils Applied Finance course for professionals

• The programme includes live online sessions and a two-day campus immersion at IIM Kozhikode.
• It is designed for mid-career professionals with at least three years of work experience in finance or related fields.

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is introducing a Professional Certificate Programme in Applied Finance for working professionals. It is a focused initiative which supports professionals in deepening their financial knowledge, improving analytical skills, and encouraging informed decision-making amidst the changing business landscape.

The program is being delivered with Emeritus, which will offer transformative learning opportunities for finance educators.

The rise of fintech, AI analytics, and algorithmic trading has increased the demand for professionals who can interpret complex financial data, improve capital structure, and make critical decisions accurately.

The program is ideal for mid-career managers, business executives, finance, commerce, and accounting professionals, along with people from broking, security analysis, consulting, and chartered or cost accounting fields.  It also caters to cross-functional professionals in non-finance roles.

The program distinguishes itself by transcending traditional learning, providing participants with the ability to analyse complex financial data, anticipate risks, and make strategic decisions. Through mastering valuation techniques, portfolio strategies, and risk management, participants develop the assurance to handle financial obstacles and leverage new opportunities.

It provides live virtual sessions conducted by esteemed faculty from IIM Kozhikode and industry professionals. It consists of ten modules that combine theoretical concepts with real-world applications through activity-oriented learning and practical sessions. A campus immersion lasting two days at IIM Kozhikode provides direct interaction with faculty and industry experts.

Addressing corporate strategy, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and digital business models, the program prepares professionals to navigate the changing financial environment. Participants receive entry to IIM Kozhikode’s executive alumni network, enhancing industry relationships and professional development.

The forthcoming executive programme is scheduled to start on June 28, 2025, featuring live online sessions designed for employed professionals. To qualify, applicants must possess a graduate or diploma qualification (10+2+3) and have a minimum of three years of professional experience. The fee for the program is INR 2,37,500 in addition to the applicable GST.

Upon successful completion, participants will obtain a verified digital certificate and attain executive alumni status.
