IIMB UG Admission 2026-27, Apply Now for November 15 Test

IIM Bangalore has introduced four-year, full-time residential undergraduate programmes in Economics and Data Science for the 2026-27 academic year. The inaugural batch has 80 seats, with admission based on the IIMB Undergraduate Admissions Test and personal interview.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has opened its undergraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session, marking the institute's entry into full-time undergraduate education. The programmes are offered through the School of Multidisciplinary Studies and are designed around an interdisciplinary combination of economics, data science and business studies.

IIM Bangalore is offering two B.Sc. (Hons.) programmes: Economics with a minor in Data Science and Data Science with a minor in Economics. Both are four-year, full-time residential programmes and are scheduled to commence in August 2026. The programmes will be delivered at IIMB's upcoming Jigani campus in Bengaluru.

The institute has an initial intake of 80 students, with 40 seats allocated to each programme. The curriculum combines academic foundations with applied learning, research exposure, internships, global opportunities and leadership development.

For the Data Science programme, students will study areas including algorithms, data structures, stochastic processes and related analytical subjects, alongside economics and business learning. The Economics programme covers economic theory, statistical inference, econometrics and behavioural insights, supported by data science and business applications.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Mathematics must have been studied in Class 12, while candidates are required to have secured at least 60% marks in Mathematics in Class 10. Candidates must also meet the prescribed age requirement, with the general eligibility set at 20 years or below as of August 1, 2026.

Selection Process: Admission is based on performance in the IIMB Undergraduate Admissions Test, followed by a personal interview. For the 2026-27 intake, the entrance test was scheduled for December 13, 2025, with interviews conducted in January 2026. Final offers were scheduled to be released by February 28, 2026.

The programmes represent IIM Bangalore's effort to expand into interdisciplinary undergraduate education, combining management-oriented learning with economics, data science and emerging technologies.
