IIM Bangalore Opens 2026 UG Admissions in Data Science & Econ

- IIMB introduces B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics and Data Science.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has opened applications for its newly introduced four-year undergraduate degree programs, marking an important step toward academic diversification at the institution. Admissions for the 2026–27 academic year are open until November 20, 2025, at the School of Multidisciplinary Studies.
Historically known for its premier MBA programs, IIM Bangalore is now extending its academic prowess to undergraduate education. The upcoming courses will be launched at the Jigani campus, located about 30 km from the Bannerghatta Road campus, aligning with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The institute will offer two full-time on-campus undergraduate programs that integrate economics, data science, and business disciplines. The B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics with a minor in Data Science and B.Sc. (Hons) in Data Science with a minor in Economics, both programs will be designed to enhance analytical reasoning, conceptual understanding, and real-world application, preparing students for data-oriented careers in business, policy, and research.
Each program integrates academic rigor with hands-on learning, offering students opportunities to engage in research projects, industry placements, and global experiences. The curriculum combines ideas from diverse areas such as stochastic processes, econometrics, behavioral economics, algorithms, and psychology to equip students with technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills.

The program provides 80 seats in total, distributing 40 seats to each major. Admission will depend on the candidates’ results in the IIMB Undergraduate Admissions Test (IIMB-UAT), which is set for December 13, 2025, along with face-to-face interviews occurring in January 2026. Final admissions will be revealed by February 28, 2026.
Candidates must be 20 years old or younger as of August 1, 2026, and must have completed Class XII or an equivalent examination from an accredited board to qualify. Mathematics must be included as a subject in Class XII, and students need to have achieved a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics in Class X.
