IIM Bangalore Opens First UG Admissions 2026 from Oct 10

It is determined that The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) shall call for applications for its first-ever undergraduate (UG) programmes along with an entrance exam scheduled on December 13.

This four-year residential course offering includes BSc Honours in Economics with a minor in Data Science and Business and BSc Honours in Data Science with a minor in Economics and Business, both of which were initiated in July 2025 under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The admission of a maximum of 80 students (40 per major) will be made to the program to facilitate 1:1 student-teacher interaction and healthy peer networks.

The programs will be held at IIM-B's new Jigani campus, 27 kilometers from its main campus. To be eligible, candidates should be 20 years of age or less as of August 1, 2026, and should have scored at least 60% in Class 10 mathematics and completed Class 12. The selection criteria comprise a computer-based Undergraduate Admissions Test (120 minutes, 60 MCQs covering English comprehension, quantitative and data interpretation, and logical reasoning) where the written exam has a 60% weightage, and a personal interview (40% weightage) follows.

The test is accompanied by the negative marking system wherein one-third mark is deducted for every incorrect response. The interview panel assesses academics, motivation, communication, inquisitiveness, extracurriculars, integrity, and genuineness.

Applications can be filed from October 10 to November 20, and interviews will be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2026. Offers of admission will be made available by February 28, acceptance will be due by March 31, and updates on waitlists will be made by April 15. The candidates can apply to both the programs in a rank order of preference, and allocation will be done by composite scores.

The fee for the first two years is approximately Rs. 8.5 lakhs per annum which covers tuition, hostel, and exam fees and a slight hike is expected in the third year. The monthly mess charges are between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000. Examination fees for General/EWS/NC-OBC candidates are Rs. 3,000, and for SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is Rs. 1,500.
