IIT-M Launches Executive MBA for Mid-Career Professionals

IIT Madras' Department of Management Studies (DoMS) has opened its applications for its Executive MBA (EMBA) programme designed for professionals at the mid-point in their career to help create future leaders and managers.

This 2-year in-person programme provides a relevant curriculum that combines professional classroom-based studies with experiential learning to help them continue working in their profession. Participants will participate in classes over alternate weekends, allowing them to manage their studies and existing roles. 

The application deadline is the 19th of October, 2025. Applications can be submitted online at domin.iitm.ac.in/admission.  Classes for the programme will start in January, 2026.The EMBA program has three field-based capstone projects that provide students with experiential opportunities to tackle real business issues.

It focuses on the development of deep functional expertise, cross-disciplinary knowledge, and a global vision of leadership. Students will also participate in an international immersion program at IESEG School of Management in Paris, which will further enhance their global perspective in business.

Admission requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks and three years of work experience. The selection process will take place on November 8 and 9, 2025. It consists of a written aptitude test that assesses business aptitude, reasoning skills, quantitative skills, and verbal skills, and is followed by a personal interview.

“The EMBA program uniquely integrates IIT Madras’ technical expertise with a global business outlook, thus equipping leaders with the understanding needed to deal with contemporary challenges,” stated Professor Saji K Mathew, Head of DoMS.

“While the format of the program is primarily case-based learning, the range of interdisciplinary modules equips participants to enhance their strategic decision-making and leadership skills through simulated business activities,” noted Program Coordinator S Srinivasan. This program represents IIT Madras’ investment in developing innovative business leaders poised to thrive in rapidly-changing global markets.
