IIT Delhi Invites Applications for Applied Data Science & AI

• IIT Delhi launches second batch of Applied Data Science and AI program.
• The six-month course covers Python, ML, deep learning, MLOps, and ethical AI.
• Participants complete an industry-focused capstone project, earning e-certificates from IIT Delhi.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has unveiled its second batch of the Certificate Programme in Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence: From Basics to Implementation, allowing participants to code production-level Python, manage and assess data, construct and review ML and deep-learning models, and implement ethical AI solutions with MLOps, culminating in a capstone project focused on industry applications.

This six-month course, provided through IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), delivers an extensive foundation in the principles and applications of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

These have now become essential for growth within organizations, with areas such as healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing, education, transportation, and entertainment experiencing significant advantages from incorporating data-driven decision-making into their operations and services. To tackle the transformational challenge, the Certificate Programme in Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence imparts essential skills for successful navigation through transition and generating immediate value in the workplace.

The program progresses from Python coding, data handling and exploratory analysis to regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction, then proceeds to deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing. Learners acquire practical experience in deploying models on Docker and the cloud, embrace effective MLOps practices, and implement responsible AI principles through industry-based projects and a final capstone.

Speaking at the announcement of the programme, Prof. Ankur Gupta, Centre for Applied Research in Electronics, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, said, “At IIT Delhi, we’ve built this programme around doing, not just knowing. Learners practise Python, modern machine learning and deep learning, then take models into production with MLOps and responsible AI. The capstone, industry cases and mentoring ensure participants finish with deployable solutions—and the confidence to apply data science meaningfully at work across sectors, with lasting impact on business outcomes.”

The program is strongly advised for future data scientists and AI enthusiasts, technology and analytics experts looking to enhance their skills or change directions, engineers and technologists implementing AI in industry environments, along with students and researchers who wish to increase their knowledge in applied AI and data science for academic or research purposes.

Provided in a Direct-to-Device (D2D) format via live and interactive online classes, the program consists of 72 hours of live lectures, a 40-hour capstone, practical tutorials, and significant asynchronous learning, along with an optional short campus immersion at IIT Delhi. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded e-Certificates from CEP, IIT Delhi. The student needs to meet all the requirements to qualify for the e-certificate from CEP, IIT Delhi.
