IIT Delhi Launches Leadership Workshop for SC-ST PhDs

- Three-day leadership workshop for SC/ST PhD scholars at IIT Delhi.
- Focus on research presentation, leadership training, and interview preparation.
- Open to advanced PhD scholars, especially women, in selected engineering fields.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has initiated 'Transformative Leadership in STEMM (TLS) 2025-26' (Transformative Leadership in STEMM (TLS) Workshop for Advanced PhD Scholars from SC/ST communities) and has started to accept applications.
Students who are interested may submit their applications by December 1, 2025. The complete list of chosen candidates will be published on January 5, 2026. This workshop, lasting three days, is scheduled to take place from January 28 to January 30, 2026.
This workshop is intended for PhD students belonging to SC and ST categories. Students enrolled in their second year or beyond at IIT, NIT, or other higher education institutions, as well as individuals who have finished their PhD or post-doctoral research, can also apply.
IIT management has stated that this program is designed to train PhD students in essential competency areas associated with teaching, research, and leadership, equipping them to excel in future teaching or research roles within higher education institutions. The workshop is collaboratively arranged by the Initiative for Caste Equity (ICE), Diversity and Inclusion Office, and SC/ST Cell.
Every participant will have the chance to showcase their research, obtain advice from seasoned faculty, and improve their presentation skills. This program's goal is to enhance the self-assurance of these students. Moreover, there will be dedicated sessions focused on job interview preparation, practice interviews, networking strategies, and advice for leadership development.

This year, applications are available for students in Chemical Engineering, Textile & Fibre Engineering, Atmospheric Sciences, and Materials Science & Engineering fields. The applications will be evaluated based on academic excellence, research quality, and level of seniority. Women applicants are particularly invited to apply.
Interested candidates are required to submit their application in a PDF format containing a research summary, statement of interest and CV. This application has to be sent to tlsworkshop.iitd@gmail.com along with the email of candidate’s supervisor.
