- IIT Guwahati and SDU partner on research, education, and innovation.
- MoU enables joint Master’s, PhD programs, and academic exchanges.
- Focus areas include sustainability, global challenges, and skill growth.
IIT Guwahati has partnered with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) to develop and undertake collaborative joint activities in research, education, and innovation.
This agreement represents a significant step forward in the Indo-Danish academic space as both institutions have now entered into a collaborative agreement to work on innovative sustainable technologies as well as education models designed for the future.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Professor Devendra Jalihal, Director, IIT Guwahati, and Professor Henrik Bindslev, Dean, Engineering Faculty, SDU.
The MoU, in addition to educational activities, lays a foundation for collaborative Master's and PhD programmes, which will allow students to be co-supervised and receive academic credits from both institutes. Also, there will be student and faculty exchanges, allowing for cross-cultural education and the development of skills.
“This collaboration supports our vision of building a global hub for advanced research and learning,” said Professor Jalihal. “Working with SDU and industry partners, we aim to develop solutions that address real-world challenges.”
A Joint Steering Committee will be created in order to monitor the activities and plan collaborative activities that include both university educational leaders and industry representatives from both sides. This joint committee will also concentrate on obtaining financial and technical support from relevant stakeholders.
