IIT Hyderabad Launches VLSI Chip Design Course with TCS iON

The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at IIT Hyderabad, in partnership with TCS iON, has initiated the registration for an online certification program focused on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Chip Design.
Intended to address the need for skilled experts, the course, according to the press release, seeks to provide students with both basic principles and advanced skills vital for careers prepared for the future.
The IIT Hyderabad program provides practical experience in essential fields of Analog Chip Design and Digital IC Design. Interested candidates can also opt for a one-week Bootcamp for an extra fee of Rs 9,440.
The VLSI Chip Design Certificate Program offered by IIT Hyderabad caters to a wide variety of individuals looking to develop or enhance their careers in the semiconductor sector. It is strongly advised for newcomers and students engaging in their Bachelor’s or Master’s programs in electronics or similar areas, providing them with a solid basis in digital and analog chip development.
Furthermore, the programme will be especially advantageous for junior and mid-level professionals aiming for rapid career advancement or an increase in salary. The course acts as an important foundation for those looking to pursue research or entrepreneurship in the VLSI field.

The detailed 45-hour certification course will begin on October 8, with registrations starting soon. The initiative aims to offer comprehensive insights into Analog Chip Design and Digital IC Design, supervised by IITH faculty: Prof. Ashudeb Dutta (EE), Dr. C.H. Gajendranath Chaudhury (EE), Dr. Abhishek Kumar (EE), Dr. Rajesh Kedia (CSE), and Dr. Kapil Jainwal (EE). The course is set to conclude on November 29.
The program provides more than 40 hours of hands-on learning via live interactive classes conducted by IIT instructors and industry professionals. Participants will acquire practical experience with professional EDA tools such as Cadence and LTspice, and can choose to join a one-week bootcamp at the IIT Hyderabad campus for in-depth lab training.
The program features mentorship, career advice, and hands-on projects in both digital and analog chip design, serving as an all-inclusive springboard for careers in the fast-expanding VLSI industry, as stated on the official website. The cost of the course is Rs 14,160. The enrollment will conclude on September 30.
