IIT JAM 2027 Registration Deadline Extended to October 19

IIT Kharagpur extends the IIT JAM 2027 registration deadline to October 19. The computer-based exam will be held on February 14, 2027, for admission to postgraduate programmes across 23 IITs and participating institutes.

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has extended the registration deadline for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027. Candidates who have not yet completed their applications can now register until October 19, 2026, through the official JAM website. The earlier deadline was October 12.

JAM 2027 is being conducted by IIT Kharagpur for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by the 23 IITs and other participating institutions. The examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode on February 14, 2027. The scores will be used for admission to programmes including MSc, MSc-PhD, MSc-MTech, Joint MSc-PhD, PhD dual degree and Integrated PhD programmes.

For the 2027-28 academic session, all 23 IITs are offering admission to 89 postgraduate programmes through JAM. The examination will be conducted across approximately 114 cities in India. Candidates can appear for one or two test papers, provided that candidates opting for two papers select papers scheduled in different sessions.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Pattern: JAM 2027 will feature seven test papers: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics and Physics. The question papers will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

The examination will be held in two sessions on February 14. The forenoon session is scheduled from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the afternoon session will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

JAM 2027 Eligibility and Application Fee: Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or are appearing for their final undergraduate examination in 2027 can apply, subject to the admission requirements of individual institutes. There is no age limit or restriction on the number of attempts.

For General and OBC candidates, the application fee is ₹2,000 for one test paper and ₹2,700 for two papers. Female candidates and candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD categories will pay ₹1,000 for one paper and ₹1,350 for two papers.

The JOAPS data correction facility is scheduled to open from November 10, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete their applications before the revised deadline and verify the submitted details carefully.
