IIT Madras Pravartak Launches Multi-Cloud Cybersecurity Programs

IIT Madras Pravartak and SWAYAM Plus launch a 100-hour multi-cloud programme covering AWS, Azure, and GCP and cloud security, offering students and professionals practical industry-focused skills.

The IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, which is the Technology Innovation Hub of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and SWAYAM Plus have jointly launched an innovative Multi-Cloud Foundation with Security program that aims to help learners develop practical skills related to cloud computing and cybersecurity. This program is specially designed for students, graduates, professionals, and those who wish to become technologists.

This 100-hour program offers a vendor neutral background in three of the most popular cloud computing services; namely, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In addition to cloud computing concepts, the course gives much importance to security aspects which allow students to learn how the cloud environment is built and secured.

Areas covered by the programme include cloud computing essentials, multi-cloud, compute, storage, and networking, identity and access management, database services, cloud cost management, and multi-cloud architecture. Trainees will also get a hands-on experience with cloud security, which includes threat detection, identity hardening, encryption, compliance, security monitoring, and incident response.

Delivered through live sessions online, the program combines theory with practice. Also, there is an immersive experience offered on the IIT Madras campus for two days, which gives participants an opportunity to engage with IIT Madras faculty and experts. There is a small batch size due to the campus program.

As per the SWAYAM Plus course list, there is a program cost of ₹13,000 and an additional 18% GST, and this course is available in English. Those learners who complete the required program and the assessment will get certified by SWAYAM Plus and IITM Pravartak. Additionally, the learners can get certification eligibility for the foundation-level certifications on the three cloud platforms.

Knowledge of basic infrastructure concepts, such as CPU, memory, networking, and TCP/IP, should be possessed by applicants. The course will assist learners in acquiring extensive knowledge regarding multi-cloud systems, instead of concentrating on one particular cloud provider.

This program is an outcome of the increasing need for talent that has the ability to handle cloud infrastructure as well as deal with cybersecurity and compliance issues.
