IIT Roorkee Launches Program to Combat Deepfakes, AI Phishing
- Nine-month course to address deepfakes, AI phishing, and LLM risks.
- Training includes 30+ GenAI tools, SOC skills, and real-world projects.
- Program prepares students for cloud security and CISSP certification.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has collaborated with the AI training firm Futurense to introduce India’s first GenAI-driven Cybersecurity Programme aimed at addressing deepfakes and phishing.
The nine-month blended program, starting on October 18, aims to tackle new digital threats such as deepfakes, AI-generated phishing schemes, and large language model (LLM) vulnerabilities.
As per IIT Roorkee, the program will prepare students for positions in Security Operations Centres (SOC), cloud security, and LLM risk management. Participants will acquire practical experience with more than 30 GenAI tools, such as LangChain, GPT, SOAR, and SIEM, and will engage in four or more real-world projects.
The program provides weekend virtual sessions conducted by faculty from IIT Roorkee and mentors from the industry. Students will additionally have the opportunity to engage in an immersion at the IIT Roorkee campus and utilize Futurense's AI Clinic for hands-on experience. Furthermore, the program equips candidates for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
