IIT Tirupati Launches Dual Degree in Data Science

The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati has introduced an Interdisciplinary Dual Degree in Data Science (IDDD-DS), offering students an opportunity to combine expertise in their core engineering discipline with advanced knowledge in data science. The new program is aimed at students securing admission through JEE Advanced and is designed to prepare graduates for the growing demand for data-driven skills across industries.
Under the program structure, students will pursue their regular B.Tech degree in a chosen engineering discipline and, after completing the initial years of study, can opt for the dual-degree pathway. Upon successful completion, graduates will earn both a B.Tech degree in their parent discipline and an M.Tech degree in Data Science, providing them with interdisciplinary expertise that combines domain knowledge with analytical and computational capabilities.
The institute has designed the program to address the increasing importance of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning across sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, finance, transportation, and information technology.
