JEE Main 2027 Exam Date Announced Check Eligibility, Registration

NTA announces JEE Main 2027 Session 1 for January 22-30, with January 31 as a buffer date. Registration is expected to begin in late October, while eligibility remains subject to NTA’s prescribed Class 12 criteria.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the tentative schedule for JEE Main 2027, with the engineering entrance examination set to be conducted in two sessions in January and April. The Session 1 examination is scheduled for January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30, 2027, while January 31 has been kept as a buffer date.

JEE Main 2027 Session 1 will be conducted in multiple shifts through computer-based testing (CBT). NTA will release the detailed information bulletin separately, containing the final registration schedule, examination pattern, syllabus and other instructions.

JEE Main 2027 Registration: The registration process for the January session is expected to begin in the last week of October 2026 through the official JEE Main website. The exact opening and closing dates will be announced by NTA through a separate notification.

Candidates will need to complete the registration process online by providing their personal, communication and academic details, uploading the required documents, selecting examination cities and paying the applicable application fee. After submitting the form, candidates should retain the confirmation page and fee receipt for future reference.

JEE Main 2027 Eligibility: According to the eligibility details, there is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main. Candidates can appear for the examination for three consecutive years from the year in which they pass Class 12.

Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, as well as those appearing for their Class 12 examination in 2027, are eligible to appear, subject to the prescribed conditions. There is no minimum Class 12 percentage requirement for appearing in JEE Main.

However, candidates seeking admission to NITs, IIITs and other participating institutions generally need at least 75% marks in Class 12 or be within the top 20 percentile of their respective board. For SC and ST candidates, the qualifying percentage is 65%.

Subjects Required for JEE Main:  For B.E./B.Tech, candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or a Technical Vocational subject, as specified by NTA. For B.Arch, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are required, while B.Planning candidates must have Mathematics in the qualifying examination.

NTA has clarified that the 2026-27 examination calendar is tentative and may be revised due to administrative, academic, statutory, logistical or other unforeseen circumstances. Candidates are advised to check the official JEE Main and NTA websites for the detailed notification when released.
