JEE Main 2027 Registration Opens, NTA Issues Aadhaar Advisory

NTA opens JEE Main 2027 Session 1 registration and advises candidates to complete Aadhaar re-KYC through DigiLocker. Applicants must use their own login credentials and match personal details with Class 10 records.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced registration for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 Session 1 and advised candidates to complete Aadhaar re-KYC through DigiLocker before filling out the online application form. The measure aims to ensure accurate identity verification and minimise discrepancies in candidates’ personal information and biometric records during subsequent stages of the examination process.
Candidates can register through the official JEE Main website. The NTA has also instructed applicants to use their own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan) login credentials rather than relying on another person’s account.

Applicants must ensure that their name and date of birth in the application form match the details recorded on their Class 10 certificate or marksheet. Candidates should verify these details before submitting the form to avoid potential issues during identity authentication.
The agency recommends completing Aadhaar re-KYC through DigiLocker before beginning registration so that the latest verified information can be retrieved. Applicants should also regularly check the official website for updates, notices and further instructions relating to the examination.
Candidates must first sign in to their DigiLocker account and open the ‘Issued Documents’ section. They should locate their Aadhaar document, select the three-dot menu beside it and choose the ‘Refresh’ option to initiate the re-KYC process.
Applicants must then review the consent screen and authorise Aadhaar authentication. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhaar, which candidates must enter to complete verification. Once the process is successful, they can refresh other issued documents in DigiLocker to ensure that their records are updated.
Candidates should use their own credentials and ensure that their Aadhaar-linked mobile number is accessible during authentication.

The NTA will conduct JEE Main 2027 in two sessions. Session 1 is scheduled for January 2027, while Session 2 will take place in April 2027. The examination serves as an important admission route for undergraduate engineering programmes at institutions including the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other participating institutions.
Candidates planning to appear for the examination should complete registration within the prescribed deadline and review the eligibility criteria, application instructions and examination schedule on the official portal. The NTA has advised applicants to follow the registration guidelines carefully and monitor official announcements to ensure a smooth application process.
