AIMST University was established in 2001 is a profit private institution for higher education and research in Malaysia. It was built by the Malaysian Indian Congress to provide tertiary education, specifically to Malaysian Indian students in the medical, science & engineering fields and business management. AIMST University status was awarded by the Ministry of High-er Education officially awarded in 2007. The

Institution has an affiliation with the Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network (APUCEN). It is also associated with various universities in countries like India, Pakistan, Japan, and the U.K.

AIMST University consists of a spacious campus in the countryside of Bedong that is spread over a dimension of 230 acres. The university enhances with upscale infrastructure and modern facilities for teaching and research. The library is con-structed in a distinctive circular design, with other academic buildings surrounding it. The Student Centre consists of computer labs, bank ATMs, health-care center, post office, book store and mini-market. The

AIMST Indoor Sports Complex has facilities for badminton, squash, basketball and table tennis. The university hosts football, hockey and cricket matches on a regional level as well as international tournaments from time to time.

The institution nearly has over2500 students and more than 250 faculty members. Around 30 organizations that focus on several academic, social and personal interests AIMST is home. Numerous alumni from AIMST University are professionals in their fields. The list of students includes the names of many doctors, entrepreneurs, engineers, and others. The university had around 3266 graduates as of 2015.
