With affordable education, scholarship opportunities and top-notch courses in law, animation, hospitality, computer science, applied sciences and engineering, Singapore is an excellent study destination for international students. Based out of Bukit Merah, Singapore, Coleman College was established in 1987 with a mission to create opportunities for all learners to acquire knowledge and skills for the international job market.

Incepted as Coleman Commercial & Language Centre, the institution offered studies in languages commonly used in commerce, and commercial subjects such as accounting. Over the decades, Coleman College has set a niche for itself in Singapore. "Historically, our presence has spanned across residential areas such as Parkway Parade and Ang Mo Kio, as well as in the Central Business District at Tanjong Pagar and even on Singapore's iconic shopping street, Orchard Road. As our expansion continued, we decided to consolidate our operations on a single campus, renamed to 'Coleman College'", speaks Melissa Kong, Senior Executive of Marketing Communications at Coleman College.

As an established boutique education provider, Coleman College envisions being the choice provider of quality and affordable education services in the region. Through the Coleman Education System, the institute empowers and enables lifelong learners with relevant and applicable skills to achieve their dreams, thus raising leaders,
disruptors and changemakers that can positively impact the global economy.

Imparting Quality Education since Inception
Registered with Singapore's Committee for Private Education (CPE) and proudly EduTrust-certified, Coleman College offers over 60 courses across 6 academic schools. With its key emphasis on holistic learning, the Coleman Education System encourages students to participate in learning expeditions to places of interest in Singapore, applying and expanding on their classroom learning. Melissa shares, "Our students were able to gain experience in accessing research resources during an excursion to Singapore's National Library. Trips have also been organized to industry seminars, for example at the convention BuildTech Asia 2018, which allowed students the opportunity to interact with industry players. Students also had the opportunity to learn about diversity and cultural differences through first-hand interaction with retailers at the historic area of Little India. Students benefit through such opportunities by interacting with industry practitioners, gaining real-world perspectives and experiences related to their courses of study."

With the majority of its courses being delivered by industry players with a wealth of practical knowledge and experience, Coleman College continuously strives to ensure that its students can be exposed to real-world application case studies, sharing of industry insight and gaining relevant and up to date information from our experienced faculty. Elaborating further, Melissa says, "Students find our curriculum forward-thinking and up to date, in line with industry practices and future needs. For instance, we are one of the first private schools in Singapore to offer a dedicated module for
Green Engineering Design, under our Diploma in Sustainable Facilities Management, in response to Singapore's requirement for 80 percent of government housing buildings to be Green Mark Certified by 2030. Also, with infrastructure developing in India and growing demand of professionals, graduates from Coleman College in Singapore will be looked upon favorably by many employers regionally, giving our graduates an edge in this competitive industry."

Taking a Student-centric Approach
With a student-centric approach, Coleman College ensures that its learners focus on group work, presentations, and projects, which encourages teamwork amongst students, and allows them to gain confidence in their public speaking skills. For students to gain experience and perspectives in their fields, relevant real-world case studies are incorporated into modules, and selected courses include a 6-month long industrial attachment. Guest speaker sessions are also organized for students to gain insight into real-world industry problems, needs and advancements.

Coleman College adopts a small class size across all levels of learning, which promotes interactive learning. The smaller class size allows teachers to pay attention to each student, and offer support to students who face difficulties in learning. With experienced, passionate and approachable faculty at Coleman College, sharing a 'Master-Disciple' relationship with their students, the Coleman educators are continuously facilitating students to grow their self-confidence and seek out knowledge independently. Ravi B.P., an Indian student from Coleman School of Tourism & Hospitality, related his experience at the institute, "Coleman's environment is very good. Best of all, our lecturer is a very nice and gentle person. His method of teaching is interesting and very simple to understand. He treats us students like his sons and daughters."
