The Department of Forensic Science at JECRC introduced its cyber program in 2020 with cyber forensics as a single subject. However, as cybercrime cases surged worldwide, the university quickly expanded its offerings.
“Today, our students can pursue majors and minors across multiple domains, with many opting for cybersecurity and forensic analysis. Driven by both rising fraud cases and attractive career opportunities, we see immense potential in this field.
To meet the demand, our university offers cyber-focused specializations in B. Tech, BCA, MCA, B.Sc., and M.Sc. Forensic Science programs”, says Vaishnavi Thakre, Head - Department of Forensic Science, JECRC University.
JECRC University empowers students with knowledge, innovation, and skills, shaping future leaders in cyber security, forensics, and technology
Unique Blend of Security & Investigation
JECRC stands out with its dual focus on Cyber Security and Cyber Forensic Investigation. While Cyber Security trains students to secure systems, Cyber Forensics prepares them to investigate breaches. The inclusive curriculum covers everything from computer basics to advanced topics like AI, machine learning, and digital evidence, making it accessible to both technical and nontechnical students pursuing cyber careers.
Furthermore, JECRC understands that cybersecurity cannot be taught through theory alone. The university has established state-of-the-art forensic and cyber labs equipped with modern tools and technologies. Students regularly engage in practical exercises, live projects, and hackathons, which allow them to test their skills in real-world scenarios.
Beyond labs, industry-certified courses and collaborations form the backbone of training. Partnerships with EC-Council and Rajasthan’s RCAT (Rajiv Gandhi Centre of Advanced Technology) enable students to earn globally recognized certifications in areas such as ethical hacking and network defense. Many of these certifications are supported through governmentfunded scholarships, making them accessible to a wider student base.
JECRC’s collaborations go beyond certifications, offering students valuable exposure through internships and partnerships with government bodies such as the Rajasthan Police and the Cyber Security divisions of the Gurugram Police.
These 45-day internships allow students to work directly on cybercrime investigations, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world cases. The university also hosts conclaves, workshops, and expert talks with seasoned professionals, keeping students updated with the latest trends. Alongside, JECRC places strong emphasis on career readiness through comprehensive Campus Recruitment Training (CRT), preparing students for placement drives.
Over the years, the university has facilitated 12,000+ offers, including 2,230+ on-campus offers from 140+ recruiters. The highest package reached `33 LPA (Amazon), with an average of `6 LPA and 825 offers from Fortune 500 companies.
These achievements underline JECRC University’s commitment to nurturing talent, ensuring employability, and shaping professionals who are industry-ready and future-focused.
