Marian College Kuttikkanam Autonomous is nested 3000ft above sea level in the Western Ghats of Idukki district of Kerala. Marian holds the unique distinction of being the youngest accredited College in India in 2003 and was re-accredited in 2023 in the fourth cycle with a CGPA of 3.71/4 A++ by NAAC.

The College also won the prestigious status of the College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) from UGC twice in 2009 and 2014. It was conferred with autonomous status in May 2016. Postgraduate programs offered through self-financing include Master of Commerce (with ACCA (UK), CMA (UK), CPA (US)), Master of Computer Applications, Master of Social Work, MA in Communication & Media Studies, and MBA. Additionally, the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Marian College is renowned for its quality education and has consistently been ranked as one of the top-performing departments in the country. The department offers a well-designed curriculum covering various areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, operations, and business ethics.

The program is regularly updated to keep up with industry trends and practices, and it focuses on producing industry-ready graduates through experiential learning opportunities such as internships, case studies, simulations, and business projects.

The department also provides start-up support through IEDC and aims to enhance students' communication skills, critical thinking, decision making, and adaptability through workshops, seminars, mentoring programs, and leadership development initiatives. “We aim to produce industry-ready graduates through a comprehensive and student-centered approach to education”, says Prof. Ajimon George, the Principal.

The Department is supported by Marian Career & Placement Cell (MCPC) to help students to build their careers by

providing pre-placement training, career counseling, skill assessment, grooming modules and provide guidance on employment strategies, soft skill development, and resume preparation. MCPC has established strong links with top organizations globally and has a high success rate in placing students. The Cell guides aspirants in higher studies and entrepreneurship/ self-employment and conducts coaching classes for exams like CAT, MAT, and GATE.

MCPC also assists students with disabilities/limited cognition. The Marian Alumni with an influential network comprising successful professionals worldwide provides a supportive community for networking and mentorship. "We provide the students the opportunity to make informed decisions about their choices and gain employability skills required for the fast-changing technical world", says Prof. Ajimon George.

Marian has ensured the consistent quality of the Department’s faculty by encouraging their participation in research assistance, national and international seminars, workshops, and contributions to leading journals.

They bring real world insights and expertise into the classroom, helping students to bridge the gap between theory and practice. The College also supports students through scholarships, with 117 BBA students receiving scholarships during the previous year.

The College also offers world class amenities to support student learning and well-being, including a digital library and traditional library, round-the-clock computer labs with high-speed internet, IEDC, audiovisual studio, and online admission management system. The campus also has modern sports equipment and games areas, a multi-gymnasium and fitness center, an infirmary and counseling center, a cafeteria, a snack bar, a reprographics center, and special waiting rooms.

The Department focuses on strengthening its tie-ups with various industries and establish more MoUs for skill development courses and enhance the employability of its graduates.

The institution also aims to commence 4-year honors and research degree programmes, and elevate the Department to a Research department. This roadmap will ensure that the institution maintains its high position in knowledge dissemination and provides its students a solid foundation for entrepreneurship or higher studies.
