Established by the Arch-diocese of Goa and Daman in June 1990, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts is managed by the Diocesan Society of Education and is a minority institution under Article 30(1) of the Indian Constitution. Recognized by the Government of Goa, the college has been granted 2(f) and 12B status under the University Grants Commission Act. Located in a rural area, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts is the largest in South Goa district of Goa and the second largest in the State, in terms of student enrolment. The College is a co-ed institution, with almost two-thirds of the students being girls, providing undergraduate degree programs in Commerce, Arts, Computer Applications, Business Administration and Business Administration (Travel & Tourism), besides a postgraduate degree program in Commerce. Recently the College has started a Research Centre (Ph.D.) in Commerce affiliated to Goa University. The programs offered by the College are both aided as well as self-financed.
Guided by its vision and mission statements, objectives and core values, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts has been rendering yeoman service of extending holistic education with state-of-the-art facilities, without regard to caste, creed and economic background while always keeping in the foreground the needs of the underprivileged. The Institution has always stood for progress as evidenced by the NAAC re-accreditation (Third Cycle) resulting in an A Grade with a CGPA of 3.29 on a 4 point scale; the phenomenal increase in enrolment; the number of foreign students admitted; the professional success of its alumni; the numerous awards won in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities; and, the fact that the excellent performance of the College at the Goa University Sports Championships.
