The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is a vibrant hub of education, research, and clinical excellence located in Santosh Deemed to be University. Having been founded on the belief of producing well trained allied health professionals, the faculty meets the changing needs of the health sector in India and beyond.

Through the years, it has come out as a center of excellence that incorporates academic rigor with practical experience with the view that healthcare education should be holistic, ethical and future oriented.

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences provides a diversity of courses such as physiotherapy, emergency and trauma care technology, medical laboratory technology, radiology, anesthesia technology, optometry, microbiology, biochemistry, and orthopedic assistant and plaster technology.

Each program is designed in accordance with and implemented following the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) guidelines, ensuring alignment with the latest national standards in allied health education.

Outcome-based education enables the faculty to develop technical competence in conjunction with leadership, empathy, and social responsibility.

Building a Culture of Experiential Learning

Centered on experiential and evidence-based learning, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is has also proposed new models of pedagogy, including Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) and Objective Structured Practical Examinations (OSPE), training by simulation, and community immersion.

These practices can close the theory and practice gap, establish clinical reasoning, collaboration, and patient-centered care competencies at the foundations of professional training.

One such innovation is Experiential OSCE/OSPE Series of Bachelor of Physiotherapy, which are created in the faculty. This is a multi-volume scholarly resource which includes the progressive checklists, rubrics and case-based assessment frameworks which are associated with the international standards in the allied health education.

At the same time, the faculty is digitalizing, and artificial intelligence, data analytics, and gamified learning are becoming part of the curriculum.

The innovations enable the students to navigate the fast- changing field of healthcare technology and digital health delivery.

The quality of instruction and assessment has also been increased through simulation laboratories, digital assessment platforms, and structured reflection journals. The digital effort of the faculty supports broader sustainability objectives of the university, such as the reduction of paper usage, energy savings, and the creation of environmentally friendly habits.

Research, Innovation, & Global Engagement

Innovation and research are one of the core pillars of the faculty's academic ecosystem. The faculty and students also engage in clinical trials, systematic reviews, and evidence-based research across the musculoskeletal health, neurorehabilitation, mental health, and AI-based clinical decision-making.

Exposure to research at an early age motivates students to submit and publish at national and international conferences to gain confidence and interest in science.

The faculty partners with international and national partners in the latest projects, e.g., gamified stroke recovery, AI-based triage, and affordable assistive technology. It is under such programs that the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is producing a new breed of professional who is caring and inventive, who is poised to spearhead the next phase of healthcare development in India.

Community Outreach & Sustainable Development

One of the pillars of the vision of the faculty is social responsibility. The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences undertakes an activity of regular outreach services in rural and underserved areas to target prevention, rehabilitation, and awareness about non-communicable illnesses.

When students are involved in medical camps, screening campaigns, and wellness programs, they get to be exposed firsthand to the social determinants of health. The experiences help them gain a deeper insight into the implications of inclusiveness, empathy, and professional responsibility.

As part of the Green Campus program of the university, the faculty promotes environmental sustainability in healthcare education. Recently, it unveiled a value-added program named Environmental Health, Green Initiatives, and Sustainable Development in Healthcare, combining an ecological literacy and an ethical awareness course of study on the health sciences curriculum.
