The Fine Arts and Design education in India is still very unorganized. Students, despite holding Bachelors's and Masters's degrees in Fine arts, are still unaware of a lot of mediums. Established with a mission to ensure that all the students are not just exposed to multiple forms of Media, but also gain ample experience using the same, SIMSUM College of Fine Arts & Design provides a supportive, creative, and inspiring environment for their students to help them explore the world of art, creativity and designing in both Fashion and Interiors both traditionally and digitally.

Established in 2009, SIMSUM Arts was set up by Twin Sisters Dr. Sindhura and Dr. Sumadhura. The duo has always enjoyed creating art from a very early age. What began as sketches of nature, eventually evolved into making wall-length paintings and trying their hands at different materials and media. As they grew in their Dental profession, they knew they couldn’t leave art behind. Hence, in 2009, the sisters teamed up to establish SIMSUM Arts at their parents’ home in Hyderabad.

“Our initial students were all children and a few adults from the neighboring areas. Once we began teaching, we knew that this was where we truly belonged. Despite the excellent quality of students passing out of SIMSUM Arts, it wasn’t until we started SIMSUM College of Fine Arts & Design in collaboration with a UGC recognized university and the Council of Fine Arts and Design, that we could award them professionally desirable qualifications”, speaks Dr. Sumadhura, Founder.

Thriving on Uniqueness
SIMSUM College of Fine Arts & Design offers a variety of fine art courses for all skill levels in more than 50 mediums and has trained over 15,000 students to date. This wide range of possibilities helps the students to hone their skills in arts and design in their preferred media as well as expand their capabilities in other media.

These students range from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals. They also enable the students in taking on the professional world by guiding them in designing and building their Professional Work Portfolio. This in return helps them showcase their work and abilities in the best way possible.

“At the institute, the students are trained by giving them experience in handling and using many kinds of art media via practicals and hands-on. By doing so, our students are equipped to use their skills across all platforms to meet the growing requirements of the industry.

We provide Certificates, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Degree courses both in the field of Fine Arts and Design (Fashion Designing and Interior Designing) and also Training Teachers in Fine Arts Diplomas to enable Artists to begin their own Institute or to work under similar organizations”, shares Dr. Sumadhura.

SIMSUM College of Fine Arts and Design has two centers that are fully equipped with all materials and media for the students. The institute also has the facilities to train students in Digital Art and Fashion and Interior design as these are the currently growing areas of the field.

Recognized largely by the quality of its teachers, SIMSUM College of Fine Arts & Design is lead by faculties who are constantly upgrading themselves in their work through workshops. They also consistently evaluate the feedback from the students after each session and semester, thereby ensuring that there is always improvement and growth.

Towards a Promising Future
Simsum Arts, in collaboration with Simsum College of Fine Arts and Design, has been successful in making people recognize the ‘Artist and Designer’ within themselves through Workshops, Regular classes, Certificate courses (Online and Offline), Exhibitions (National and International), Competitions and has also helped them sell their Art by providing a platform for the same.

In 2021, SIMSUM ARTS has conferred the ‘International Fame Award’ for Best Fine Arts and Crafts Institute’ in Delhi by Sonu Sood, and in 2022, the Founder Dr. Sindhura’s work was recognized by the ‘Women Entrepreneur of the Year’ for Creative Arts field’ in Mumbai while Dr. Sumadhura went on to becoming a ‘Guinness World Record title holder’ in 2022. In 2023, Simsum College of Fine Arts and Design received the ‘National Excellence Education Award’ for ‘Most promising Academy of Fine Arts and Design’ of the year. In the years to come, SIMSUM College of Fine Arts & Design aspires to establish itself as number one in the industry for teaching Fine Arts and Design, while it works to help all artists up-skill themselves.
