Sheltering a whopping 30,000 students, 6,000 staff members and 3,000 Ph.D. scholars who study and work in different fields, the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is the largest university present in the country. Having a long enriched history, the UvA encompasses research activities and is the most sought after university in Europe. The UvA was established in 1632 as Athenaeum Illustre by Gerardus Vossius (a Dutch classical scholar and theologian) who lectured on 'De Historiae Utilitate' (usefulness of history). On the following day, Caspar Barlaeus (a Dutch polymath and Renaissance
