Imparting nursing education based on excellence in the generation and transmission of nursing knowledge through a teaching process that encouraged critical thinking and a spirit of scientific inquiry in delivering care, has been at the core of Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital ever since its foundation in 1946 as East India Clinic.
Offering General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Diploma program, the School of Nursing was established in 1995. Taking note of the expanding health services of the country, the College of Nursing was started in 2009 admitting 30 students for bachelor's degrees in nursing as they prepared to graduate as well-qualified nurses. Thereafter, the seats were enhanced to 50 for both GNM and B.Sc Nursing courses.
Today, recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, and West Bengal Nursing Council and affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Woodlands College of Nursing strives to prepare nurses who are highly spirited and skilled in professional as well as personal front to contribute to the health care delivery system by creating a learning environment of international repute.
The institution has its unitary building with well-equipped spacious classrooms with the latest technology, including a SMART classroom facility for providing multisensory experiences.
It also has a digital library facility, well-furnished specifically designed labs with the necessary equipment for practicing and developing skills for the students in the Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Nutrition, Audio Visual Aids, Computer Lab,
