In a significant move to enhance its footprint in India's rapidly growing AI and startup landscape, OpenAI has commenced recruitment for a Solutions Architect, Startups position in Bengaluru - the company's first role of this kind in the nation.
Kenneth Ang, talent partner at OpenAI, announced the opening on LinkedIn, noting that the company is also recruiting for a similar role in Seoul, South Korea. “We’re hiring in India (Bangalore) and South Korea (Seoul)! Are you deeply connected to your local startup ecosystem and passionate about building with AI?” Ang wrote.
The position located in Bengaluru is part of OpenAI’s team, dedicated to assisting early-stage companies in developing and scaling products with OpenAI’s models and infrastructure. The position seeks to link OpenAI’s advanced technology with India’s dynamic startup ecosystem, assisting founders in progressing from concept to prototype to widespread implementation.
The job advertisement indicates that OpenAI is looking for individuals who possess significant technical expertise in AI/ML, software development, or product creation, along with developed networks in India's startup ecosystem, either as entrepreneurs, advisors, or financiers.

The news is also timed with OpenAI’s first DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru on November 4, where the organization will interact with developers and startups. Significantly, OpenAI has recently declared free access to ChatGPT Go for Indian users for one year, starting on the same day — an indication of its growing involvement with the Indian tech ecosystem.
