RRB Technical Recruitment 2026 Opens for 6,565 Vacancies

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the short notification for the RRB Technical Recruitment 2026, inviting applications for 6,565 Technician vacancies across Indian Railways. The recruitment drive is conducted under the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) 02/2026 and aims to fill technical positions in various railway zones.
The recruitment process covers two major categories Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III posts. Out of the total vacancies, 323 positions are allocated for Technician Grade I Signal, while 6,242 vacancies are available for Technician Grade III roles. The detailed notification provides information regarding eligibility, application procedures, examination pattern, and other important guidelines.
The online application process begins on June 30, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their forms until July 29, 2026. Applicants are advised to complete registration and payment formalities before the deadline to avoid technical issues during the final stages of submission.
Candidates applying for Technician Grade III posts must generally have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination along with an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognised institute. Applicants holding an Act Apprenticeship certificate are also eligible for specific trades. For Technician Grade I Signal posts, candidates require higher technical qualifications such as a diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in relevant engineering disciplines.

The age criteria vary depending on the position. Candidates applying for Technician Grade I Signal posts must be between 18 and 33 years, while those applying for Technician Grade III positions must fall within the 18 to 30 years age bracket. Age relaxations are applicable for eligible reserved category candidates as per government regulations.
The selection process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and medical examination for shortlisted candidates. The recruitment procedure is designed to assess candidates’ technical knowledge, aptitude, and suitability for railway operations.
Selected candidates for Technician Grade I Signal posts receive a basic pay of Rs 29,200 under Pay Level 5, while Technician Grade III appointees receive Rs 19,900 under Pay Level 2, along with applicable allowances and benefits.
