IP University Offers "One-time Chance" for Degree Completion
As part of its silver jubilee celebrations, the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has decided to offer a "one-time chance" to students who have been unable to complete their degrees over the past 25 years, according to the university's vice-chancellor on Oct 4. Earlier in the day, Vice Chancellor Mahesh Verma spoke at a press conference here about a variety of programmes that will take place from October 5-10 as part of the university's 25th anniversary celebrations.
He also told PTI that the GGSIPU will "honour 25 research scholars" in the field of healthcare. The silver jubilee celebrations began in December of last year and will continue until December of this year, he said.
During this jubilee year, the university is recognising excellence in healthcare as well as academic endeavours. In addition, the university will award 25 scholarships to deserving students. As part of the university's ongoing silver jubilee celebrations, 'we will be offering a one-time chance to students who, for various reasons, couldn't complete their degrees over the last 25 years,' Verma told PTI.
The university also held a 'health mela' at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, where people could get free health checks, consultations, medical tests, and expert talks. On the first day, over 15,000 people registered for the event, and people of all ages came for medical check-ups at more than 50 specialised medical stalls set up by well-known government and private medical organisations.
