IIT Bombay Launches JAM 2026 Website for PG Admissions
- IIT Bombay activates JAM 2026 portal; applications open Sept 5 and close Oct 12.
- Exam scheduled February 15, 2026; results expected by March 20; admit cards by Jan 5.
- JAM enables access to 89 postgraduate programs across 22 IITs and IISc (3,000 seats).
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has gone live with the JAM 2026 website (jam2026.iitb.ac.in), initiating the admission cycle for postgraduate science programs. The website contains all of the information regarding eligibility, seat matrices, exam cities, and registration process.
Prospective students can apply (register) through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) from September 5, 2025 to October 12, 2025. The Joint Admission Test for Masters, JAM will be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) on February 15, 2026, and provisional result are expected to be released by March 20, 2026. Admit cards will be released on a tentative basis on January 5, 2026.

JAM 2026 will provide access to 3,000+ seats in 89 Standalone and Dual-Degree postgraduate science programmes, including M.Sc., MSc-PhD and Integrated PhD across 22 IISc Bengaluru and IITs which participate in JAM. Institutes will use their own eligibility criteria and selection processes.
Exam will be held across eight geographical zones with respective IITs; candidates will select three preferred exam cities while choosing from one zone which may include major centres like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Guwahati.
The JAM portal also now has mock tests, access to information brochures to download soon and help resources for applicants. The JAM website will still be the main information source for deadlines, format changes and notifications, across the admission cycle.
