Growing at a brisk pace due to its strengthening coverage, services, and increasing expenditure by public as well as private players, the Indian healthcare sector is expected to record a three-fold rise to reach US $372 billion in 2022 from US $110 billion in 2016. Even if during the COVID pandemic, the Indian health care system and infrastructure had proved that it is on par with developed countries in terms of protocol based approaches and execution of those approaches, our country still needs certain reformations in policymaking and health care administration. Medical Tourism has also significantly increased, as many countries in the world today turn to India for health care.
Maheshwara Medical College and Hospital was started in 2015 with a vision to create an `Integrated Healthcare Campus' of global standards to provide affordable healthcare services for the underprivileged. An 850-bed Multispecialty Hospital situated within Hyderabad metro limits having easy accessibility from all the corners of the city, the Hospital is spread over an area of 90 acres of lakes, rocks, and green ambiance just beside National Highway 9 (Mumbai National Highway). Maheshwara Medical College and Hospital provides a range of courses which includes Bachelor's in medicine and Bachelor's in surgery (MBBS)and Post Graduation in Pathology, Microbiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, SPM, General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, and Radiology.

Apart from all these services the hospital is equipped with world-class infrastructure, dedicated staff, and having 24 hours Emergency health care services from Central Casualty, OBG Casualty, Trauma Care Center, ICU, ICCU, SICU, NICU, PICU, Laboratory, Radiology services ­CT, MRI, mammography, Blood Bank, Pharmacy and Ambulance Services. The hospital provides free treatment to poor patients and has Aarogyasri empanelment and other government health schemes.

Maheshwara Medical College and Hospital has collaborated with several Corporate Hospitals in Hyderabad for an Integrated Clinical Program, where students would get hands-on experience and training in patient care. This program aims to bring about awareness in young doctors, regarding the challenges faced in treating patients and critical patient care and also enable them to witness different modalities of treatment in the Medical world. It also provides scholarships for Government funded programs like ICMR projects. "Our students do participate in Extra-Curricular Activities. We have clubs and committees for sports, culture, literature, and Photography.
Our students have participated in Inter Medics (InterMedical College Competitions) and have won several awards in competitions like quizzes, Drama, RolePlay, Marathons, Cricket, Basketball, and others. They have

conducted various healthcare-related awareness programs in surrounding communities and villages. Our students are hard-working and bring laurels to the Institution", says Aashish Manivannan Vice Chairman.

Maheshwara Medical College and Hospital has been providing free healthcare for the underprivileged in approximately 36 villages surrounding the Maheshwara Campus. Doctors from the hospital comprising Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Orthopedics, and Pediatric departments regularly visit these villages for periodical check-ups. During 2020 COVID19, when the whole world was facing mounting problems regarding healthcare facilities, Maheshwara Medical College and Hospital, Hyderabad initiated the `Maheshwara Free PPE Program' during the COVID-19 pandemic to safeguard the medical fraternity in the state of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Delhi by donating Lakhs of PPE and N95 masks to the Government's COVID Hospitals.
